Pastor David Tsai – English Pastor
David is a home-grown product of the English-speaking congregation for EFCLA. He has been attending and serving HarvestLA since 1979, when he came from Brazil. He has served as a pastor for HarvestLA since 2000. Before that, David served as the pastor for the English congregation of EFC-DC, from April 1996 to August 2000. He “cut his teeth” in ministry by starting as a junior high fellowship advisor for HarvestLA beginning in 1983. David’s passion is to bring the generations together in an immigrant church, serving as a bridge between generations, languages, and cultures.
He is married to a beautiful wife, Andrea, and together they have two awesome kids, Isabella (8) and Matthew (6). He grew up in Brazil from ages 1 to 15 1/2, when his family immigrated to the U.S. Although David can speak several languages, he cannot speak any of them without an accent. If you want to learn Portuguese or Spanish, he is your man. Being born in Taiwan, raised in Brazil and educated in the US, if David looks “confused” to you, it is because he IS confused. He loves to watch sports (mostly soccer, basketball and football), and he goes nuts during the World Cup, especially when Brazil is playing.
Pastor Andy Kuo – Youth Pastor
Andy Kuo was born in Bethlehem, PA but grew up in Cincinnati, OH. He moved to Wisconsin to attend college at University of Wisconsin–Madison. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and then worked at Kimberly-Clark, a consumer products company responsible for Huggies® and Kleenex®, for nine years. After working professionally, he moved to California to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena in 2005 and became the Youth Pastor of EFC Los Angeles in 2010. Andy has a heart for the EFC churches, is a huge extrovert, and loves cats. On the side he is a big Apple computer geek, likes to build websites, and occasionally plays World of Warcraft (but he is currently too busy playing Starcraft II).
Pastor Joe Chou – Children’s Pastor
Joe, born in Los Angeles, first started coming to EFC-LA back in 1981. He came to accept Christ in 1983 at a VBS, but didn’t take his faith seriously until he was baptized in 1989. While growing up at this church, he served on the worship team, as a small group leader in the high school group, a deacon and a youth minister intern. Joe currently resides in Pasadena with his wife, Christine (also from EFC-LA), and toddler, Isaac. They love playing Wii together, as well as taking strolls through Old Town Pasadena.
